Dr. Daniel Druckman, Class of '66
A Lifetime of Impact Begins at Northwestern
When Daniel Druckman (PhD '66) reflects on his time in Northwestern's Department of Psychology, he remembers more than coursework; he remembers the faculty, mentorship, and intellectual community that shaped his career. Guided by influential scholars including Donald Campbell, Benton Underwood, Winfred "Win" Hill, Albert Erlebacher, and Robert I. Watson, Druckman developed the analytical thinking, interdisciplinary perspective, and resilience that would define his work as a researcher, author, and educator.
His graduate education laid the foundation for a distinguished career spanning psychology, political science, and conflict analysis and resolution. The lessons he learned in Evanston informed decades of scholarship, teaching, and several published books, while the friendships and mentorships he formed remained a lasting source of inspiration.
Today, Druckman is giving back to the department that launched his career. Through his generous support of student awards, he is helping ensure that future generations of Northwestern psychology students have the same opportunities to learn, discover, and thrive.
