‘Center for Enlightened Disagreement’ launches at Northwestern, Eli Finkel to co-direct
February 14, 2024
Professor Eli Finkel, professor of social psychology and professor of management and organizations at Kellogg, will be co-directing (alongside Dr. Nour Kteily) the Center for Enlightened Disagreement–an innovative new research enterprise designed to promote constructive discourse in today’s increasingly polarized world. The Center aims to support research, curriculum, and best practice integration around how to engage across difference to harness the power of diverse perspectives. The center will serve as a path forward by embracing disagreement as a virtue as opposed to eliminating it.
“Disagreement is the lifeblood of innovation, but it can run amok. We founded the Center to push people, organizations and societies to harness the power of disagreement while minimizing its perils.” - Professor Finkel
